DPF’s (Diesel Particulate Filter) have been fitted in diesel cars for over 2 decades. They work to reduce the emissions released during driving by capturing the exhaust soot and burning it off over time. This prevents the well-recognisable ‘black smoke’ that you often see flying out of diesel cars on the motorway. On occasion, the regeneration (burning off) process is interrupted in some way and your DPF may not be performing to its full potential. This is where we can help here at Axminster Autos.
